About This Event

This adventure is for women of all ages and backgrounds who want to experience a gathering where we reclaim our wildness, connect in a community of authentic women and say yes to new challenges!!!

At The Wild Love we aim to focus on slowing down and tuning in to nature to guide and inspire. If slow peaceful mornings, coffee over the fire, moving your body, creating with your hands and deep connections are what make your heart sing, this experience is for you.

This retreat is designed to teach women the basics of Bushcraft and geared toward helping women to feel safe, strong, comfortable and confident in the wilderness. If you've never spent much time in the wilderness then look no further as this is a retreat designed especially for women with limited to no outdoor experience.

You'll learn the basics of camping and bushcraft.

But this retreat is so much more than wilderness crafting, it is about connecting to ourselves and each other with like-minded women. That is what this camp is all about. A safe space where we can disconnect from the hustle of life and slow down enough to take the time to really see and hear each other. We are building a community of wild women willing to show up and do the work to authentically connect and share their truth. Are you yearning for deep conversations and meaningful interactions? Do you want to feel the healing vibrations of earth mama? Would you like to use your senses as you dive deeper into your movement and yoga practice out in nature?

Then this is the camp for you.

All of our retreats focus on connecting to nature and ourselves but if you are looking to learn specifically about earth skills and bushcraft in a group of supportive women then you came to the right place!

*Disclaimer: If you are seeking a retreat in which to relax by the pool, get massages and chill out this is not the experience for you and we recommend you choose another retreat suitable for those needs. We will be co-creating this experience and getting our hands dirty. It is going to push your limits and connect to that raw, primal part of you.

The wild love is for women who want to come home to a wild and empowered state of being - carly (retreat host)

Venue Highlights

The Wild Love is run from the gorgeous Guinevere Guest Farm, which is located a 90-minute drive from the tourist hot spot of Cape Town. The campsite is situated on 95ha of private land nestled amongst indigenous fynbos and lends itself to the ideal space in which one can immerse in nature and the tranquility of the abundant fynbos and bird life.
There is a large swimming lake for those hot summer months as well as a river for swimming.
A short walk away is a gorgeous waterfall and rock pools to cool off in or watch the sunrise over the valley.
The farm is also a rescue sanctuary with cows, pigs, chickens, and donkeys- all rescued and given a second chance to live out their days with us.
80% of the farm is pure and untouched fynbos, which is the most diverse and richest plant biome in the world.
Enjoy star gazing from our wood-fired hot tubs and open air showers

Accommodation will be in our campsite. This is a rustic off-grid site with no electricity or wifi. We use some solar power but the point is for us to immerse ourselves in nature and get off of technology for a few days. There is wifi and electricity in the nearby cottage for emergencies etc.

We encourage everyone to bring their own tents and bedding but we can provide if you don't have.
This is mean't to be a self sufficient retreat, offering you the chance to empower yourself with earth based living, therefore we recommend bringing your own gear.

The campsite is located under trees so there is plenty of shade. We have a beautiful cool workshop cabin for summer days and it has a wood burning stove for the colder days/nights. You will find hammocks and swings setup around camp adding a whimiscal touch.

There is a dam (lake right by the campsite perfect for a cooling skinny dip.
Wood fired bath tubs and open air hot showers and flushing toilets are at camp too, so you will be pleasantly surprised at how comfortable you will feel in all its simplicity.

  • Hot Tub
  • Coffee/Tea

Nourishment is an important part of the wild love experience and integrates not only in vibrant diet but through sincere human connection.
We serve organic meals where possible created with love and packed with superfoods, providing the nutrients needed to energize and revitalize from the inside out.
Expect campfire meals cooked over the fire, as meal prep will be a communal affair.

The nearest airport is Cape Town International. The easiest way to get to the venue is by car. Renting a car from the airport is simple and quite cheap too.
We can organize a shuttle to and from the airport. The cost is approximately R1200 each way- so sharing the shuttle with a few people is the most cost-effective.
To get to the venue from the airport will take around 90 minutes.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My last retreat at SMC was so inspiring and so relaxing. But i'd love to have more time there to spend at the Stupa, visit the Kami shrine, and generally interact with the beautiful enlightened society happening on that entire land. Brett
