Morning
We observe silence in the mornings until after breakfast.
08.15 on wards : Morning Hatha and Vinyasa yoga classes (Yang based) and guided meditation
10.30 : Organic healthy and delicious breakfast
11.30 on Wed: Guided Hike
12.00 on Mon, Tues, Thurs: 2 hour practical workshop on healthy food preparation and nutrition
14.00 : Organic, delicious, plant-based lunch



Afternoon
Free time can be spent on nature walks, swimming, reading, self-practice, massage treatments, silence and time to oneself.



Early Evening
There is silence time in the evening between yoga and dinner

16.45 on wards: Evening yoga classes (Yin based) and guided meditation
19.30: Organic, delicious, plant-based dinner
20.30 on Mon, Tues, Thurs: 1 hour workshop on healthy food preparation and nutrition



At Yoga Sutra Shala, the system of teaching is based upon personalising the classes towards your needs and desires to help you learn and develop as you want to so please let us know if you want us to focus on any particular aspect of yoga during your stay with us.

Note that all the classes are optional during your yoga retreat. We want you to develop at your own pace and we want you to enjoy every moment of your stay with us.

About This Event

On these retreats we combine the wonderful activities of yoga, meditation, cooking and walking, to give you an experience that will feed your body, your mind & your soul and give you new inspiration to improve your well being.

This retreat provides you with enlightening & mouth-watering plant-based nutrition workshops, led by Namit and one of our amazing chefs. In addition to sharing specific recipes, we will inform you of the benefits of the different foods and how to combine them to produce delicious and healthful meals for yourself, your family and your friends.

Three different themes will be explored in three, 2-hour morning workshops:

1. The whole truth about whole grains: Learn about their nutritional benefits while picking up tips & techniques to make the most of these deliciously nutritional foods.

2. Legumes – more than just a protein: understand the best methods for cooking and combining these wonderful staple foods, so that you can confidently explore their versatility and and enjoy their nutritious nature.

3. The raw awakening: Raw main meals, raw deserts and cold steeped teas, including nutritional information on raw versus cooked meals.

In the evenings there will be further 1-hour workshops on:

What happens when we mindfully eat;

The gut-brain axis: How your gut microbiome affects your mood; and

Ayurveda and eating for your mind-body type.

The workshops are sandwiched by a satisfying helping of yoga and meditation, each morning and evening and 3 deliciously healthy meals are generously portioned throughout each day. Additional activities may garnish your retreat, such as lazing by the pool and wandering in the mountains.

We will lead you on a guided hike to enjoy some of the breath-taking views from the mountains surrounding the retreat centre.

All-in-all you will have an appetising smorgasbord of wonderful, interesting, healthful, relaxing and illuminating experiences to graze on.

It was a truly wonderful experience with the perfect combination of activities, imparting of knowledge and practical techniques to support mind body and soul in such a stunning location by truly lovely warm people.  The food was terrific too! Everything was just perfect.

Accommodations

All rooms - twin (2 single beds) and couples (1 double bed) - can also be reserved for single occupancy.
Each room has an ensuite bathroom, hair dryer, central heating & aircon, lovely views and several of the rooms even have balconies.
All bedding and towels and also organic shower gel and shampoo, are provided.

Menu/Cuisine

All meals are freshly prepared using organic whole grains, cereals and seeds and organic produce sourced from local farms.

Directions

For your convenience we arrange a shuttle bus transfer between Alicante airport (ALC) and the retreat, at a cost of 30€ per person, each way. This journey takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes. It leaves ALC at 12.00 on Sunday and returns to ALC at around 15.00 on Friday.

From Valencia airport (VLC), via the bus station in the city, it is possible to travel by coach to the coastal town closest to us, called Oliva.
Taxis between Oliva and the retreat cost around 30€ each way. This journey takes, in full, around 3 hours each way.

Alternatively we can organise your transfers with a local driver, at competitive rates.

There are no public transport services to Benissiva. Oliva is the closest town you can reach using public transport.
