A profound exploration of the Gateway of Understanding

About the Workshop

The Primal Spirituality Workshop is a unique opportunity to delve into the depths of your being, uncovering the essence of who you truly are. Through a series of immersive experiences, guided meditations, and enlightening teachings, this workshop will help you awaken your primal spirit and expand your emotional intelligence.

Primal Spirituality — The Gateway of Understanding

Primal Spirituality is an invitation to reconnect with the essential truth of who you are beneath conditioning, survival patterns, and the noise of modern life. It is a journey into the deeper currents of human experience—where spirit, heart, mind, and body begin to come back into alignment. This workshop focuses on the Gateway of Understanding—the spiritual capacity that brings wisdom, clarity, insight, and compassionate seeing to the mental realm as it comes into coherence with the heart. There comes a moment on the spiritual path when we realize that knowledge alone cannot transform us. What we truly long for is understanding—a deeper clarity that quiets the mind, opens the heart, and allows us to see ourselves and others with greater compassion and truth. When the mind is disconnected from the heart, perception can become clouded by fear, judgment, projection, and confusion. But when heart and mind come into harmony, something remarkable begins to awaken: Discernment deepens, inner vision becomes clearer, and compassionate understanding naturally emerges. Through experiential practices, guided meditation, transformational teachings, and reflective inquiry, participants are invited to:

Develop greater clarity, wisdom, and self-awareness
Recognize the emotional patterns shaping perception
Cultivate compassionate witnessing and deep listening
Open to insight beyond reaction and judgment
Bring the mind into alignment with the intelligence of the heart

Understanding is more than an intellectual process—it is a state of consciousness. It is the capacity to truly see. As this gateway opens, confusion dissipates, relationships begin to shift, and a deeper sense of meaning and direction can emerge. This is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, awaken the wisdom already within you, and experience life with greater presence, clarity, and compassion.

Directions

One of Sunrise Ranch’s biggest advantages as a retreat center lies in its convenient location. Just a 20-minute drive from downtown Loveland and Horsetooth Reservoir, and about an hour from Denver International Airport, we are close to town yet far enough removed in the mountains to escape noise and pollution. The roads leading to the property are paved and well-maintained all the way—no need for four-wheel-drive vehicles or SUVs, even in winter.

Accommodation

Welcoming our guests means sharing the atmosphere of home. A variety of clean, comfortable accommodations are available in close proximity to meeting rooms and the dining room. Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains 18 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park and close to population centers of Fort Collins, Boulder and Denver, Sunrise Ranch is a peaceful and beautiful venue for groups and individuals. I've been coming to events here for the past few years...workshops, ecstatic dances, community gatherings, drum circles and a wedding. It's a magical place with beautiful people. Each time I return it's like coming home. I'm extremely grateful for their presence here in Loveland.

Varied, excellent meals — highly recommended
Very good place for a workshop or retreat! The meals are varied and excellent. Rooms are decent, though some beds are saggy. There could be more showers when the venue is full, though I never had to wait for one. Highly recommended!

Every aspect exquisite
EVERY aspect of the Sunrise Ranch hosting team & facilities was exquisite. The grounds are incredible, the facilities are clean and in excellent repair, the food is excellent beyond words, and every single staff member I met (at least a dozen!) was friendly, cheerful, and extraordinarily welcoming.
Sunrise Ranch is embodying the vision I have for our society, country, and world as Humans transition into living in from their Hearts.
Thank you to everyone at the Ranch who is pioneering this shift!

They love feeding people
Wow! I felt so well cared for during my entire stay at a recent retreat held at Sunrise Ranch. When they say, "We love feeding people"--they are not kidding! Every meal was soooo good, such variety & fresh ingredients--and I could really feel the love that was poured into all of it. Our accommodations were always spotless--I swear there were elves that snuck in constantly sprucing up when we weren't looking to keep things clean! :) And every person I encountered who worked on the ranch was friendly, helpful & clearly happy to be there. GOOD ENERGY! Thank you for holding us; you're doing some good work!
