About This Event

The internship program is focused on individuals looking to acquire knowledge in use the plant medicine therapeutically and from the helper view and also other holistic therapies. This will not train you to run ceremonies or to give the medicine to others but can give you knowledge on how to be a sitter for someone using psychedelics at home or in a more private environment.

The responsibility of this work involves safety and environmental protocols, being naturally curious, and having a deep desire to learning from plants. This also includes developing a higher moral responsibility towards humankind, planet earth, and the universe itself. This is not a journey for everybody and it’s a whole different experience than drinking Ayahuasca as a patient. We feel that this can give you a close perspective of what plant medicine is, before partaking, or even before visiting a native shaman. It’s our main goal to share this knowledge with the right individuals, people with motivation to continue to share it with others. We hope you like our idea. It is a privilege for us.

This program is dedicated to medical professionals, practitioners of healing arts, holistic therapists, and any other individual with a desire to integrate shamanic practices and holistic therapies into their life.

The minimum stay for the program is one-week. Still, we believe that the minimum time to achieve a deeper understanding of our practices would be at least 21 days to fulfill a program cycle, participate in private or public ceremonies, and have your own sessions.

This can also be extended for up to 90-days. You will be asked to work/learn 2-4 hours a day, 5 days per week. Other chores other than learning topics are included such as cleaning, gardening, cooking, feeding the pets, and regular daily activities. People participating in the program should have a natural curiosity about these topics and a real interest in learning. We are looking forward to creating new ways of teaching other than college or university. This type of education is based on hands-on and practical experience, with a substantial theory percentage.

During your experience, you will integrate the basic principles of different holistic therapies, permaculture techniques, and other topics, along with the practical tools to develop these activities.

      Lovely Retreat

Oh my goodness, I fell in love with Costa Rica at this retreat. The food, house, land- all perfect. Andres showed up around as well. It was almost fairytale like. I went with this resort as it is private and I did not want to be surrounded by strangers. I wanted to be able to focus on myself and not other people/energy. I fell in love with the country and will be back!

      Introspective journey

I had a relaxing and amazing journey. Andres and his mother were soo kind. I will definitely come back again! The land is huge and I loved meditating on top of the hill. It felt like living like a local for a few days, which helped with the aya journey. No words can give justice to the amazing time that I had and for the amount of things that I learned about myself during this quest. Thank you again Andres, it felt like home in your presence.

A special place for intimate experiences

This is a great place for relaxation and experiencing sacred ceremonies with Ayahuasca. The nature around it and the hill are incredible. The level of service provided has high standards and they have a team of dedicated people, depending on the retreat that you book. I would strongly recommend booking more than one Ayahuasca ceremony to get more of the known benefits of the medicine and include more staff in the experience. If you book three they bring a quite special medicine musician for the last one from Costa Rica to literally make a concert with his guitar and songs about the elements of the earth, love, and humanity. This all feels that they are making a strong effort and are committed to providing a remarkable experience. My experience with plant medicine was very gentle and full of love that I am still feeling. It helped me understand most of my habits and have more universal thinking and acceptance about myself. Thank you, Casa de la Luz, for what you do. I felt very identified with what´s happening there. Big hugs!!

      A transforming experience

I spend three nights in Casa de la Luz for a private retreat for me and my partner, this was our first time and we wanted to have a more accessible place than the Amazon jungle. The staff was very helpful and communicative all the time and most of them speak perfect English. The location is the typical big yard in Costa Rica, which features an antique style house with an open deck, hammocks, nice amenities, fresh fruit all the time picked up from the trees in the property and nature. They take you on this journey with the help of different tools and specialized staff. Andrés the ceremony leader knows how to work in the Ayahuasca ritual at his best and always providing nice and comfortable space to be. He is highly experienced in Ayahuasca ceremonies and has a natural empathy with the people quite rare to find, he really enjoys doing his work. I could feel that happiness and love are the two main things that encapsulate this place. The chef and food were great, healthy and balanced, using typical dishes from the country so you can have the Costarican experience as well. The ingredients are based on Ayahuasca Dieta and they offer other types of medicine. There was also a psychotherapist on-site that helped us prepare for the ceremony with dance therapy and special meditation sessions. This was very helpful indeed. Having that kind of support really makes the difference. I hope to come back soon and continue my journey with the help of these beautiful people. Thank you for everything.
