About This Event

We’ll focus on the Buddhist teachings around navigating—and seeing deeply into—the eight worldly winds. These winds are familiar and universal: loss/gain, pleasure/pain, fame/shame, praise/blame. The winds are mentioned in the Lokavipatti Sutta. On September 20, we’ll focus on loss/gain.

Naturally, the worldly winds can lead to suffering. But Buddhist teachings can help us practice with them to cultivate awareness, equanimity, and compassion.

Please join co-facilitators Jan Surrey, Marsha Lawson, and Annie Hoffman for a morning of silent meditation, relational practice, and mindful movement.

The group generally meets once a month during the academic year.

Fall 2020 dates: Sundays, October 18, November 15, and Dec 20.

Why Retreat?
