The Kariri Xocó are part of the tribes that have maintained their culture and traditions in spite of immigration and colonization. Ayahuasca and other plant medicines have always been an integral part of the tribe's life. We are honored to be taught and led by such traditions.
Shaman, Yradezú, travels with the medicine of Ayahuasca to educate others on his tribe's customs and use of plant medicines. He feels it is important that the medicine of Ayahuasca be in the right hands during sacred ceremony. So, he has made it his purpose to give others a chance to embrace his tribe's traditions that have been around for thousands of years, while also making sure it is done safely and respectfully.
While leading Ayahuasca ceremonies, Shaman Yradezú also sings traditional Kariri Xocó music, plays instruments, paints the faces of participants, and brings forth his tribe's customs.
