- Enjoy optional events scheduled each day, from yoga to bonfires to kayaking. The event fee covers included daily activities and entertainment, in a boutique beachfront hotel room (each unit is 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom with full kitchen). Solo travelers and couples are welcome.

Hi there! We are two sisters (Kim & Adriana) who had a midlife adventure (crisis) and bought a hotel in Costa Rica.
Kim and Adriana both have career backgrounds in event management and facilitation, and we LOVE both hosting events and attending retreats.
After a full hotel renovation in early 2024, we are excited to launch Event Weeks at the Fenix Hotel & Retreat Center. We partner with amazing people to host week-long fabulous events for niche groups of fabulous people.
The hotel vibe is chill, no-fuss, and definitely Pura Vida. Welcome to our space.

Connection While on Vacation: 7-Day Queer & Lesbian Retreat at the Fenix is a way for you to vacation with and get to know other Queer and Lesbian humans. It isn't intended to be a wild hook-up scene (although that sounds fun as well) but more of a healing getaway, with multiple activities provided each day, from yoga to bonfires to kayaking. You choose how active you would like to be. There are also optional healing circles each day, led by Adriana. You can attend all, or just relax with a book in a hammock.

As an International Development Consultant that lives & travels throughout Latin America and the U.S., Adriana brings a multicultural perspective to her work sharing her zest for life with diverse communities, is your host at this week-long event of relaxation, connection, and healing with other lesbian and queer women.
The event fee covers included daily activities and entertainment, in a boutique beachfront apartment. Solo travelers and couples are welcome.

Your Room: All six hotel rooms are apartment-style with two XL twins in the bedroom or a King (single occupancy upgrade available), a main living area, and a full kitchen. All bedrooms have A/C.
Events include but aren't limited to:
Margarita Party. Enjoy live music and pineapple margaritas as you watch the sunset with new friends. This is a magical night you won't want to miss. INCLUDED.
Yoga on the Beach. Enjoy yoga overlooking the beach, led by our amazing staff of yoga teachers. INCLUDED.
Massage on Site. Our massage therapist can give you a private massage in your room, or on the beach while you listen to the waves. OPTIONAL. Starting at $50.
Sunset Cruise. Enjoy unlimited drinks as we chase the sunset on this magical excursion. You might even see whales. OPTIONAL. About $55/person.
Kayak to an Island. Enjoy unlimited drinks as we chase the sunset on this magical excursion. You might even see whales. INCLUDED.
Fish Fry Dinner on the Beach. Your fresh-caught fish and healthy salads will be prepared in front of you on the grill on the beach. Enjoy getting to know all guests on the first night of the event.

Book your flight to Guanacaste Airport (LIR)
The cheapest way to travel is through discount airlines: Southwest and Alaska Airlines both fly into Liberia, Costa Rica. You can get rates around $500 round trip!
Once you arrive, you can rent a car or coordinate a shuttle through us. It is about $130 (plus taxes) for a private shuttle.

Your Room Whether you are coming with a partner or solo, our guests enjoy an apartment-style hotel room with a main living area and full kitchen. The regular event fee includes a shared room with two XL twins. You may also upgrade to a private room with a King bed for $500. All bedrooms have A/C.

Our guests at the Fenix Hotel enjoy stepping out of their rooms onto the white sand beach.
The property includes a small pool, hammocks and beach beds for everyone, and a quiet unpopulated beach front.
It is a WOW.
We are a 15-minute ocean stroll to the city center with 20+ restaurants. Close enough but far enough to get away from it all.
