About this Retreat
Meredith Rose is a Plant Medicine Mentor, Harm Reduction Advocate, and the founder of Heantos Worldwide, an organization promoting ancient Hmong herbal formulas for detox and recovery. Her journey into plant medicine began after overcoming personal struggles with addiction, which led her to explore the transformative power of indigenous healing traditions. In 2021, she founded Chispa Wasi, a retreat center in the Sacred Valley of Peru, where people from around the world come to learn from tribal ancestral carriers of sacred medicines.
Meredith has dedicated her life to advocating for indigenous wisdom, drug policy reform, and holistic recovery. She also serves as the Vice Chair of the Psychedelic Society of San Francisco, where she expanded its psychedelic recovery group to Peru. Now based at Hacienda Paucartika, she continues to challenge conventional paradigms of addiction and healing, offering retreat experiences that bridge ancient knowledge with modern healing practices.

Located beneath the ancient ruins of Huchuy Qosqo, this hacienda invites you to connect with the rich heritage and natural beauty of Peru.
Your journey begins with a pickup from Cusco or another location in the valley. In the evening, gather for a fireside dinner in our beautiful dining hall, where organic farm-to-table vegetarian meals, sourced from our gardens, are served. For those who prefer, fish or chicken is available upon request for an additional fee.
The following morning starts with breakfast, featuring eggs from our free-range chickens, before heading up the mountain to explore the Huchuy Qosqo ruins. Once a royal retreat for Inca rulers, this remarkable site offers terraces, ceremonial spaces, and stunning views over the valley. Your Quechua-speaking guide will lead you through the ruins, sharing the stories of its past, teaching you a few Quechua words, and introducing you to the Andean medicinal plants that thrive in this sacred landscape.
For those seeking a deeper connection, you have the option to work with San Pedro (Wachuma), the sacred cactus medicine of the Andes. This profound experience will follow a slightly adjusted itinerary, allowing for a more personal journey with the plant.
After the ruins, you’ll visit a local Andean family to share traditional food and tea, immersing yourself in their hospitality. In the evening, return to the hacienda for another fireside dinner, and as the night falls, enjoy an unobstructed view of the stars. With the distant presence of the ancient ruins and the grandeur of the surrounding mountains, the night sky will fill you with a sense of timeless connection to this sacred land.
