About this Retreat
MHSF is a Catholic apostolate dedicated to igniting holy marriages and reclaiming a new normal for families that will enact real and lasting change in the world.
The mission of the MHSF is to answer the call of St. John Paul the Great when he says, “Family, Become who you are.” It is our vision to build up a culture of marriages that are solidified by holy formation, an intentional community, and deep encounter with God, who is perfect familial communion. We are an apostolate devoted to the sanctification of ordinary life in the family, strengthened by the sacrament of marriage.

24-hour Retreat for Couples
with Father Ben Holdren and Missionaries of the Holy Spirit in the Family
Retreat starts Friday with 6pm Supper (5pm Check-In & Welcome), Friday ends with 9pm Optional Social Time
Saturday starts with 8am Breakfast & 8:45am Talk, ends Saturday evening at 4:00pm with departure by 4:30pm (no supper).

Couples Retreat: Discover the meaning and mission of your marriage
A 24-hour retreat for married couples to gather and consider how absolutely essential their vocation is to the home, the church, and the world. This is an opportunity for any couple that would like to spend a time of retreat with other like-minded families who are striving for joyful holiness in the domestic church. (Couples do not need to be part of MHSF to join the gathering.)
Fueled by Scripture and the Saints, the retreat will offer practical ways for couples to deepen their prayer lives and build a community of faith in their families. There will also be Adoration and Confessions, Mass, Social and Conversation times and Silent times.
The 24-hour retreat includes full room and board, with an option for overnight stay or for commuter couples who will not be staying overnight but will still be assigned a room to use for breaks and discussions.
Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House offers a sanctuary of prayer and recollection on a spacious acreage near Waverly.
We want our retreats to be accessible to everyone, please consider an additional donation, or contact the Retreat House to inquire about financial assistance or if your parish pays part of the cost. If the retreat you’re interested in is full, contact us to be put on a waiting list. A few double rooms are available upon request. Airport transportation to/from LNK or OMA is also available upon request.
