Details of this retreat

A boutique wellness experience in a 5-star SPA hotel

Master the art of self-restoration. Learn how to restore your body and mind naturally over five days in the pine forests of Tsaghkadzor, Armenia.

The Taste of Life Method combines breathwork, gentle yoga and Shaolin Qigong, meditation classes, and sound healing, all supported by a modern understanding of the nervous system, so every part of the day will contribute to your recovery.

You will leave not only feeling renewed, but with practical skills that you can continue using for the rest of your life.

Schedule

Day 1 • Arrive, Slow Down, Let Go

Arrival and transfer

Check in and take time to rest after your journey.

The first day is intentionally gentle. There is nothing to achieve and nowhere to rush. It is time to leave the pace of everyday life behind and gradually settle into the slower rhythm of the retreat.

Opening Circle

Meet the group, discover the philosophy behind the retreat, explore the five-day journey ahead and ask any questions you may have.

Sunset Practice

Your first evening combines meditation, gentle body-based movement and sound relaxation.

The intention is simple: slow down, release the journey and create the conditions for deeper rest and recovery.

Dinner and free time

Enjoy dinner together, unwind and allow yourself to arrive fully.

Day 2 • Restore Mobility and Learn to Be Present

07:00 • Joint Mobility & Awakening Flow

We begin the first full day with an accessible whole-body mobility practice inspired by Sukshma Vyayama, the subtle joint and movement practices of classical yoga.

Gentle movements progressively awaken the major joints, mobilize the spine and reconnect attention with the body.

This is why we begin here.

Before asking the body to do more, we first restore movement. Before introducing more intensive practices, we create mobility, circulation and awareness.

The practice is adaptable to different ages and fitness levels and provides a foundation for everything that follows during the retreat.

08:00 • Sound Relaxation & Meditation

After movement comes stillness.

Lie down, close your eyes and allow the sounds and vibrations of singing bowls, gongs and other acoustic instruments to create a space for deep relaxation and inward attention.

08:30 • Breakfast

A nourishing breakfast followed by time to relax.

10:00 • Workshop: Meditation Made Simple

Meditation does not require stopping your thoughts.

This practical workshop explores what meditation actually is, why there are so many different approaches and how to find techniques that work for you.

You will experience several fundamental methods and learn simple principles that make meditation easier to integrate into everyday life.

Daytime • Nature, Culture & Personal Time

Depending on the destination and the day, afternoons may include nature walks, cultural discoveries, mindful experiences and visits to carefully selected local places.

There is also space for personal relaxation and simply doing nothing.

18:00 • Sunset Restoration Practice

Meditation, gentle body-based movement and sound create a transition from activity into rest and help you close the day with greater calm and awareness.

Evening

Dinner, meaningful conversations, relaxed group activities or quiet personal time.

Day 3 • Rediscover Your Natural Energy

07:00 • Shaolin Yi Jin Jing Qigong

The morning begins with Yi Jin Jing, one of the classical systems associated with the Shaolin tradition.

Its name is commonly translated as Muscle and Tendon Transformation.

Through slow, coordinated movements, postures and breathing, the practice works with mobility, strength, balance, coordination and whole-body awareness.

Rather than relying on speed or physical intensity, Yi Jin Jing develops controlled movement and a deeper connection between attention, breath and body.

The practice has been transmitted through generations and remains an important part of traditional Chinese health and movement culture.

During the retreat, we approach it not as something mystical, but as a remarkably sophisticated movement practice that can be adapted to modern life.

08:00 • Sound Relaxation & Meditation

A period of stillness and sound allows the body to settle after Qigong and prepares the mind for the day ahead.

08:30 • Breakfast

10:00 • Workshop: The Taste of Life Method

Why can something as simple as changing your breath, movement or attention change the way you feel?

This workshop introduces the five interconnected elements of the Taste of Life Method:

Sound • Breath • Movement • Awareness • Aliveness

You will explore how these elements influence your physical and mental state and, most importantly, how to begin using them consciously.

The goal is not to depend on a teacher or retreat.

It is to understand your own tools.

Daytime • Nature, Culture & Personal Time

Nature and cultural excursions, mindful walking, personal relaxation or free time depending on the destination and conditions.

18:00 • Sunset Restoration Practice

Meditation, gentle movement and sound relaxation.

Evening

Dinner, conversation, group activities or quiet personal time.

Day 4 • Learn to Regulate Your State

07:00 • Vinyasa Yoga Flow

Today we connect breath and movement through an accessible Vinyasa practice based around the classical Sun Salutation.

Movement follows the rhythm of breathing, creating a continuous flow that develops mobility, coordination, body awareness and gentle strength.

Rather than focusing on complicated poses, the practice teaches something more useful: how breath can organize movement and how movement can influence your state.

Different variations make the session accessible to different levels of experience.

08:00 • Sound Relaxation & Meditation

08:30 • Breakfast

10:00 • Workshop: Your Nervous System Toolkit

One of the most practical workshops of the retreat.

Our emotional and physiological states constantly influence our breathing, posture, facial expression, muscle tone and voice.

But this relationship also works in the opposite direction.

By consciously changing some of these signals, we can influence how we feel.

Through practical exercises, we explore breathing patterns, extended exhalation, sound, facial and body techniques, sensory awareness and the principles of biofeedback.

The objective is not simply to understand the nervous system.

It is to leave with simple tools you can actually use when you need to calm down, regain focus, release tension or change your state.

Daytime • Nature, Culture & Personal Time

Depending on the destination, the afternoon may combine sightseeing, nature experiences, mindful walking, breathwork or meditation in carefully selected natural settings.

There is always time simply to rest.

18:00 • Sunset Restoration Practice

Meditation, gentle body-based practice and sound relaxation.

Evening

Dinner, meaningful conversation, shared experiences or personal time.

Day 5 • Take the Practice Home

07:00 • Energy Breath & Morning Activation

Our final morning brings several elements of the retreat together.

We begin with gentle movement to prepare the body, followed by an energizing breath practice designed to progressively engage the respiratory system and increase alertness.

You will explore how different breathing patterns can create different physiological states and learn the important distinction between breathing practices for activation and breathing practices for relaxation and recovery.

We also revisit the relationship between breathing and autonomic regulation, including how slower breathing and extended exhalation can influence pathways associated with parasympathetic activity.

The purpose is practical: to understand that there is no single “correct” way to breathe for every situation. Different moments require different tools.

08:00 • Sound Relaxation & Meditation

Our final sound and meditation practice creates space to integrate the experience of the previous days.

08:30 • Breakfast

Morning Workshop • Integration, Q&A & Closing Circle

The final workshop brings everything together.

We review the key practices, answer questions and explore how to integrate what you have learned into real life without creating another complicated routine.

You leave with practical tools for movement, breathing, meditation, relaxation and self-regulation that can be used independently at home, while travelling or whenever life becomes demanding.

The retreat lasts five days. The skills stay with you for life.

Departure & Transfer

A Typical Daily Rhythm

The retreat follows a carefully designed rhythm of practice, learning, exploration and rest.

Morning sessions awaken the body and develop new skills. Workshops provide practical understanding. Daytime experiences reconnect you with nature, culture and the pleasure of simply living. Evening practices gradually bring the system back toward rest.

Exact times may be adjusted according to sunrise and sunset, the destination, weather conditions and the natural rhythm of the group.

Nature & Cultural Experiences

A Taste of Life retreat is also an opportunity to experience the destination itself.

Depending on the location, the daily program may include sightseeing, nature walks, light trekking, cultural experiences and carefully selected outdoor locations where we may incorporate mindful walking, breathwork or meditation.

Excursions are intentionally flexible. Routes and timings may change according to weather, local circumstances and the needs of the group so that we can create the best possible experience rather than simply follow a rigid itinerary.

What You Take Home

The purpose of the retreat is not to make you dependent on retreats.

It is to help you understand your body and mind better and give you practical ways to influence how you feel.

You leave with a personal toolkit that may include mobility practices, Qigong, yoga, meditation, breathing techniques, relaxation methods and simple approaches to self-regulation.

Use them for five minutes or an hour. At home, at work or while travelling. To energize yourself in the morning, reset during a demanding day or slow down before sleep.

Some of the most powerful tools for your wellbeing are already within you. This retreat teaches you how to use them.
