Magic Doesn’t Do the Experience Justice – In the Great Hands of Ixca, Embracing What Is Meant to Be
I went into the medicine retreat with almost zero experience with psychedelics. I never truly felt the need to open my mind or seek a kick from that kind of experience, as I believed there were other ways as well. Life accumulates. Ending a job, I came ashore on Mexico’s coast at the last minute, accompanying a friend on his journey. Having been interested in the healing properties of psychedelics and having read intriguing accounts of such experiences, I felt a calling.
Needing to work through some things—a partnership without children, understanding myself, where the world is heading, and what I should do next—I was open-minded and embarked on the retreat with deep respect.
I did the retreat near Cancún, Mexico. Before going, I prepared myself—body and mind—with a week of boxing near Tulum, reasonably good food, and a course that came with Retreat Guru, which I found very helpful. During the retreat, I had Ixca all to myself. I was very blessed to have that opportunity. We talked a lot, and it gave both of us a chance to grow from each other. During the ceremonies, I was deeply impressed by how she moved with me through the motions—for lack of a better term, how she transcended worlds and guided me through the spirit and soul realms.
The experience itself left me with countless insights—some so deep I could never have hoped to find answers for, nor did I truly aspire to in the first place, yet they came.
Perhaps I would have had a similar experience in another retreat, but I doubt it. Everything aligned beautifully—not just the retreat itself but also the people and surroundings, which worked almost magically toward realizations. And Ixca, as a person and being, was there to allow it to happen, giving impulses where needed.
Above all, I wish for you to have the chance to let Ixca guide you and bring you healing, wherever you may need it. It might not be easy—facing yourself in every aspect is incredibly hard, as you surely know. You might be afraid or struggle to read the signs, but in any case, I cannot think of a better person to care for you on your journey.
Please keep an open mind, and don’t forget to treat Ixca—this wonderful being—with respect, as she and those assisting her will open themselves fully to you, even if unknowingly. You will likely need to respect both yourself and them to fully accept what you learn, even if it threatens your previous understanding of existence. Rejecting it in any way might be painful—please keep that in mind before reacting to whatever you experience. Share your journey so that all involved can grow from it.
Lastly, I want to leave you with my insights. Remember, we are all part of an older lineage. This world may be hostile to us, but we can transcend if we remember who we are and stay true to our higher selves, noble principles, and a code of conduct that fosters respect and enables everyone to live in truth.
