Casa Grande Mountain Retreat
Casa Grande Mountain Retreat was named one of the ‘Best Hotels in the World’ by the Huffington Post (Spring 2016). Set in a stunning valley on 107 lush tropical acres, in the karst country of Puerto Rico, Casa Grande is an oasis of peace and tranquility. This former coffee plantation, now exquisitely landscaped, has 20 rooms scattered up the mountainside, each with private bath and hammock. A fresh-water swimming pool is cradled beneath a green mountain vista. Three healthy and tasty meals a day are served in the café, including local and international cuisine. A fully equipped 900-square-foot yoga and dance studio offers plenty of space to move freely. Beautiful woodland hiking trails, ideal for bird watching, are available at your doorstep. Professional bodywork sessions may be booked on site, at La Casita. -

Jurian Hughes, E-RYT 500, MFA, is a senior faculty member at Kripalu Center, the U.S.’s largest yoga center. She is a Kripalu Yoga Teacher Trainer, Let Your Yoga Dance® Trainer, co-founder of A Wild Life Sanctuary™, experienced retreat leader, voice coach, mentor, and theatre performer, known for her passionate, compassionate, and inspiring teaching style. “I think I create a space in which people feel like they can be completely themselves.
