In this retreat, we will explore practices that cultivate embodied mental health. Drawing from Western and Eastern modalities for resilience and well-being, we will investigate how we can transform the mind through deep inquiry into the lived experience of the body.
In the breathtaking beauty of Peru’s Sacred Valley, we will spend time each day engaging in both inner and outer explorations. We will explore the inner landscape through daily sessions that include instruction in and practice of mindfulness meditation, verbal processing, and yogic breathing and movement. We will traverse the outer landscape through excursions and cultural exchanges, as well as through quiet communion with nature. These practices and experiences are designed to spiral us deeper into ourselves as well as into connection with others and the natural world. Together, we will be cultivating the presence, flexibility, and compassion to be with and work with the weather, as it were, both internally and externally.
This retreat is led by mind-body mental health practitioners, Elizabeth Visceglia, MD (psychiatrist and yoga therapist) and Allyson Pimentel, EdD, (psychologist and mindfulness facilitator) and is suitable for those with any level of yoga and meditation experience – from absolute beginners to experienced practitioners. All people interested in mind and body wellness are welcome to join us on this amazing journey of renewal, restoration, and inspiration.

Willka T’ika is Peru's premier luxury garden guesthouse and retreat center. We are based in the heart of the Sacred Valley between Cusco and Machu Picchu, one of the most energetically charged places on Earth. To preserve its sacredness, it is open only to registered guests. We have 2 fully equipped sun-lit yoga studios with wooden floors, which can accommodate conferences, lectures, and other events. Willka T'ika also contains ceremonial temples, a library, and the renowned beautiful and restorative Seven Chakra Gardens. Healing services include: Andean massages, reflexology, solar-heated floral medicinal baths under the stars, and crystal light therapy sessions. Additional nourishment comes from our delicious gourmet vegetarian food. The meals incorporate local high-protein ingredients such as the Andean Tarwi, Kiwicha and Quinoa. All dishes are prepared with organic freshly-harvested produce, herbs, and grains grown in the Willka T’ika gardens. The Magical Journey retreats include a nutritional breakfast buffet and a full-course dinner. We are pleased to offer special diet needs, such as gluten-free and dairy-free entrees. Local herbal teas are available daily. The Quechua staff is versed in Incan herbal remedies and happily prepare special healing teas for guests. The adobe-style buildings are made from all natural materials from the area. We have 10 charming and comfortable garden rooms, 12 luxury garden rooms and 4 deluxe suites with king beds, all with gorgeous Andean details and artwork. Every room has heating and modern private bathrooms with hot water. Our solar heating, storage of water allotment, and septic systems help minimize our impact on the environment. Willka T’ika’s total accommodation capacity is presently 70 guests. Willka T’ika surpasses the International Criteria for classification as an Ecolodge – it is a model of authentic sustainability.An especially unique and favored part of guests’ experience at Willka T’ika is the loving service from the Peruvian staff.
