This is the law of "In lak'ech ala k'in". It means "I am you and you are me" according to the traditional Mayan interpretation. This Mayan greeting is not only an expression of respect for each other, it is also a statement of unity and togetherness. "In lak'ech ala k'in" reflects the same sentiments as other beautiful greetings such as Namaste for the East Indians, Wiracocha for the Incas, Haux-Haux for the Huni Kuin and Mitakuye Oyasin for the Lakota peoples.
