Advice on maintaining and evolving the physical structure of your center over time

Obstacle

Our center has been running for over 30 years now, and we’re facing the practical reality that physical structures are in need of major repair, and we need a vision and a plan that can carry us through the next few decades.

Advice

Create an architectural master plan that you can use to shape the actions you take over the next 20 years. This plan will give you a framework for the way your physical buildings will be rebuilt over time, with room for improvisation and evolution as you learn and grow through the process. We did this by creating a Master Planning Task Force comprised of 4-5 people who met with the architects to envision the future of our center and consulted regularly with our community. We nearly have a final draft of the plan, and are exploring the first phase of implementation.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

To feed my soul so that I may return to my students with more inspiration and love to share! Jennifer
