Advice on knowing your market
The first obstacle that I feel many people come across when they start running retreats is the obstacle of defining what your market is, and who those ideal clients in that market are. Probably everyone who has started a retreat from scratch has to understand where are you marketing your program, who are your clients, and how do you reach them. I think that’s a big one when your starting out and even as you continue on. With technology now, consumer behaviour changes rapidly these days.
Pay more attention to the back end stuff, the admin, book keeping. Have a clearer strategy of how you want to grow and what you want to achieve. Put a team around you earlier on instead of doing everything yourself. Don’t be afraid to delegate. Employ people better than you at certain things. Worry less and have more fun.
