Advice on defining “Yoga Retreat”

In the 40+ years we’ve been in business, the definition of “yoga” has broadened immensely, and we’ve gone from being one of the only yoga retreats in the US, to one of hundreds. In this way, it can appear at first glance that we have lots of competition, and may no longer be so unique. However, we see it differently.

In order to understand our unique offering, we’ve taken a look at the students who have come to us over the years, and have defined the characteristics of students who get the most out of their retreat experience at Feathered Pipe: People who are interested in the deeper, more spiritual aspects of yoga, who may have been practising for years already, and like the idea of going inward to get answers. We believe that yoga poses are not an end in themselves, but rather a tool to open our hearts to the infinite, and to give us a direction in our lives.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I want to deepen my meditation. Jackie
