Advice on what to delegate and what to do yourself

Obstacle

For me, working with people is the most enjoyable part of running a retreat centre, and wearing the business hat and dealing with the money side of things doesn’t come as naturally. In the past I have made the mistake of handing too much over to my staff, and I have needed to embrace my role as the owner and take charge again.

Advice

I have found that there are certain things that make sense to delegate, and others that I really need to do myself. The things that work well to delegate are: website management, marketing, on-site guest reception, emailing to manage registrations. The things that I need to do myself to achieve the results I want: creating new retreat offerings, teaching a portion of each retreat to have direct guest contact, finances, and managing the staff.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Connect with nature and remember my spiritual self is timeless Zoe
