Lisanne van Niekerk

About us

Lisanne is always looking for balance and healing that she can create for herself and others, ultimately creating space for the most vibrant and authentic versions of ourselves. She specialises in Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System and yoga.

Lisanne found yoga in 2012 when she took her first classes in Hatha and Pralaya yoga in Delft, The Netherlands. From the first moment she was hooked! At that time she was struggling with pain and low energy levels during her Architecture studies. Yoga was exactly what she was looking for that brought back balance in her body and mind. She took her 200hr Hatha yoga teacher training in 2015 with Saktiisha Yoga Studio in The Hague, The Netherlands. Since, she has been giving yoga and meditation classes in which she incorporates her experience from Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System, in which she has her level IV certification.

Meanwhile Lisanne worked at the LEF Future Centre in Utrecht, The Netherlands. She worked on the innovation of the Future Centre and facilitated groups with the use of brain facilitation and creative processes. The goal of the Future Centre is creating breakthroughs in complex transition processes in order to make bigger steps toward the future society goals (as the Future Centre is part of the government). Creating and witnessing the true power of these authentic breakthroughs gives Lisanne a profound joy.

In July 2017, she took the leap and moved to the USA, still creating and facilitating breakthroughs with groups and on a personal level, integrating the knowledge she has gained with yoga and breathwork. Lisanne works with a fusion of different styles of yoga, meditation and breathwork, mainly focussing on the sensations in the body and coming back to the physical experience in the here and now.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I am an oncology nurse and a few long time patients have died recently. I need to rejuvenate and return to my breath! Elizabeth
