My goal is to move through everything I do with Authenticity and Love. Beginning a personal practice over 10 years ago was the start to my personal recovery journey, yet there were many moments of physical and emotional pain that took me away from Yoga, and full circle back again. Ultimately, these are the moments that have led me to where I am now and who I am as a teacher. It is always my intention to create an environment in which you can feel safe to hold space for yourself, exactly where you are and as you are. To create a space where one can lean into their subtle body is how we are all able to drop into the feeling body and out of the thinking mind, which is profoundly empowering and healing. As a teacher I help you explore the deeper layers of being through breath and energy awareness. Postures are held with the intention of building strength, confidence in "being with" the discomfort while simultaneously developing a feeling of ease.
As a teacher I have over 1,100 hours of training, much of which has come from India, where I have studied at the Yoga Vidya Gurukul Ashram among other places that embody the authentic tradition of Yoga. I am currently enrolled in Loyola Marymont University's Yoga Therapy program. I have trained in both Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Yoga for Addiction Recovery. From this diverse background of training, I teach very mixed populations from a "typical" studio class, pre-school children, school teachers, adults in addiction recovery and women who have survived sex-trafficking. As both a Life Coach and Yoga Therapist and Teacher it is my goal to empower your recovery and discovery through the symbiotic practices of healing that I offer. I am here as a support and guide. The true power lies within YOU.
