About The Teacher
Monica Andaloro is a Qualified Feldenkrais Practitioner and holds a Master with Honors in Performing Arts. She experiences the Feldenkrais Method for the first time during her first career as a performer in the theatre. The sensation of both grounding and lightness at the same time, the connection through the whole body and the discovering of new, easier ways to use herself, lead her to attend the 4-year Training in the Feldenkrais Method, enabling her to make this discipline the profession of her life.
She also attended further post-training specializations in pelvic rehabilitation and in functional movement for children. She is honored to work closely to Assistant Trainer Cinzia Faccin, who is her mentor and one of the most outstanding figures in Feldenkrais Method in Italy..
She teaches adults, adolescents and children, who suffer from postural, psychological and neurological issues and problems. She also teaches performers and athletes.Feldenkrais Method’s principles are the basis of her Contemporary Dance Teaching, a parallel career she is also pursuing.
What's Feldenkrais Method ?
Everyone, at every age, has the possibility of discovering and developing his potential, in order to reach a
total self-fulfillment. Moshe Feldenkrais
Every human being is an indivisible totality of body, mind, feelings and sensations. The moving body is the
most concrete part, because we can watch and touch it.
We often act according to automatic patterns, that are deeply-rooted over time. Those patterns make us
have the same emotional reaction, the same physical pain, the same point of view and they prevent us
from achieving our objectives.
The Feldenkrais Method leads us to sensing ourselves, while we are moving: we recognize our habits and
actively discover new, easier and more pleasant possibilities of using ourselves.
This improved awareness through the movement results not only in a gained physical flexibility, but also in
more emotional balance and confidence in our capabilities.
We concretely learn how to organize ourselves, in order to realize our objective more easily and with less
resistance. Feldenkrais Method can be apply in group or individual lessons. In a group lesson, termed ATM
(Awareness Through Movement), partecipants usually lie on mats and are guided by the voice of the Practitioner
to explore from the smallest movement to the most complex action. They discover how to connect the various parts
of themselves, so that their movement become easier, more efficient and without unnecessary tension
The psychomotor experience of a child is re-created, when the child plays and gradually learns how to move, to stand
up on his own and walk in the world.
