About The Teacher

Originally from the Mid-West (accent included), Claudette Stears has lived on West Coast (PNW) to most recently the East Coast (New England).  Many moves, and homes later, recognizing that change is the only constant in life,  personal circumstances brought to light a need for a transition.  Yoga provided a balance that offered something different from intense training schedules.   Leaving Aerospace Engineering and a corporate lifestyle in the rearview mirror, she earned her 200 RYT certification by training with Ganga and Tracy White at White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA in 2014.  Identifying a need in local communities to bring Yoga to pockets of students,  Essentially Yoga and #hoponmyyogawagon was born.  Always the student and wanting to learn more, she has completed "Yoga as Therapy" workshop with Doug Keller, and is a certified SUP Yoga instructor through Paddle Board Bliss in San Diego, CA.  Her passion for travel and adventure takes her to destination retreats, appreciating peace in nature while staying active. Vinyasa flow, Yin and Yoga Nidra with a requirement for self care is Claudette's primary "Yoga style."  She believes and honors the mindset that Yoga is for Every Body and will lead you in a class offering modifications to help find your "True Bliss."

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My inspiration is a desire to gain a deeper connection to and understanding of myself, something that I've been working hard on for so long and will continue to do in the future. I view a retreat as a wonderful way to focus entirely on this without the distractions of every day life! Nicola
