About The Teacher
Expedition Rewild owner and trip leader, Betsi, is in her eighth season leading sea kayak tours in Alaska. Her guiding has evolved to offering deeply spiritual journeys for awakening adults from her background in ecotourism and teen development programs. She has over ten years experience as a naturalist guide, teaching kids and adults alike about the ecology and landscapes of Alaska and the healing power of spending time outside. She has studied under shamans and spiritual leaders across the US and internationally, including Peru, Hawaii, Romania, Australia, and Alaska. She is Reiki 1 attuned, leads Cacao ceremonies, holds space for ritual body ordeals, and visits with her entelechy while out hiking (and boating, skiing, camping, biking, climbing!).
She is an ACA-certified kayak instructor, certified Wilderness First Responder, EMT trained, Wilderness First Aid instructor, and a wilderness Risk Management consultant.
Through hundreds of days spent in remote parts of the world traveling by foot and paddle, Betsi identified three stages of development that occur in human consciousness through wilderness experiences. She created the curriculum of Expedition Rewild to bring all three stages into one journey:healing from the stresses of modern life, becoming empowered through tackling the challenges of the wilderness, andigniting newfound consciousness for higher vibrational living back at home.
Suzanne’s testimonial: “I would go with Betsi into any wilderness at anytime and go with delight and confidence that I would find that connection to the great force of nature renewed.”
