A physical yoga practice is a tangible and safe way for me to practice life. It allows me to experience ideas such as focus, patience, integrity, and receptiveness. It gives me time to play with finding balance within; between inhale and exhale, holding and letting go, steadiness and ease, offering and receiving. This experience of balance is what I hope to share through my teaching.
My classes offer an alignment-based practice intended to help each student build awareness of his or her own body. This deeper awareness empowers students to play with finding their own balanced place, on or off their mats, today and everyday.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level. I completed my 500 Hour teacher training through Open Source Yoga, and have also completed a 95 Hour Kids Yoga teacher training through Semperviva Yoga. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in contemporary dance from Simon Fraser University. I have been teaching alignment-based yoga classes since February 2012.
