Karen is the founder and lead experiential curator of Nourished Union, focused on creating wellness experiences that connect the ancient practices to all aspects of modern life. Karen's journey started 15 years ago, when retiring as a professional contemporary dancer, and turning to yoga to heal old injuries. What she never anticipated was the deeper connection that awoke through her yoga practice. This connection spoke louder and louder, pulling her back to the mat, and quickly took her practice from the physical, to a deeper mind-body-soul connection.
This understanding of connecting to movement in a mindful way turned into a passion to share with others, beginning to teach in 2005, maintaining a focus on building strength through form. She unites her knowledge of anatomy with the deeper teachings of yoga to help her students practice with greater form, while finding balance between effort and ease. Her teaching focuses on connecting the mind to whatever challenge lies before them, all while staying present through awareness and breath. Whether its yoga, spin, barre, meditation, holistic nutrition or ayurveda, Karen’s teachings focus on an experience that goes further than just the physical, by bringing attention to connecting one’s whole self and uncovering a deeper potential.
Karen is a certified in: 300hr RYT (specialties in: Yoga Chakra Balance, Restorative, Yin, Pre/Post Natal), Meditation, Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching, Ayurvedic Specialist and Schwinn Cycling.
