Rameen is the founder of SATTVA Yoga and the SATTVA School of Yoga. He began his journey at a very young age with meditation and Raja Yoga. His practice of meditation eventually incorporated Hatha Yoga postures to ground his experience into the body and breath. At 20, he had a profound awakening experience with the guidance of his teacher. Understanding that his experience was a true experience, a reality beyond his own mind, he dedicated himself to a rigorous practice of physical postures and breathing to purify the body.
Shortly after his experience, he went to India for deeper study of Yoga in the physical form with Master Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. In 2002, he was authorized to teach by the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute (AYRI), a blessing given to very few individuals at that time.
Over the years, Rameen combined the practice of postures and breathing, Hatha Yoga, with the meditative practices of Raja Yoga (concentration, meditation and absorption). This was what initiated the SATTVA practice, a whole and complete practice of self-understanding and, ultimately, realization.
Rameen’s self-inquiry style of teaching gives the practitioner the perfect platform to learn the key tools that are necessary to becoming self reliant and confident on his or her spiritual path and path of self development.
