About The Teacher

Jo teaches mums, dads, creatives, corporates, athletes, kids & anyone seeking more calm, clarity, energy and wellness in their lives.

Before becoming a meditation teacher Jo worked in rehabilitation managing people with physical injuries, anxiety and depression. She then switched to the role of mum, and began to enjoy all that motherhood had to offer, although it was not as straightforward as she had anticipated! With no family support, a husband who worked long hours and a personality prone to worrying and overthinking, Jo soon came to realise she was battling the all too familiar signs of anxiety and depression in herself.

With meditation increasingly recognized as a tool for greater wellbeing, she decided to give it a try. Within weeks of practicing Jo was noticing a shift. Feelings of joy and contentment were creeping back into her life like some kind of sneaky magic; this idea that meditation is good for you was starting to ring true! She found herself flowing through the day with more energy, more clarity of mind, more love and compassion for herself and others, more happiness and less snappiness!

Jo became passionate about helping others experience the benefits of Vedic Meditation and trained as a teacher graduating in India. She is now on mission to debunk the myth that meditation is difficult and to create awareness about how easy it can be. Jo is delighted to be helping anyone who gets the feeling that meditation might be just what they need.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My inspiration is to find some very much needed solace away from the stress of raising 4 children, working (as a dietitian) and trying to get my private nutrition counseling practice launched. I am a registered yoga instructor and have practiced for over 10 yrs, and have always dreamed of taking a yoga retreat just for my own inner well being. Linda

Retreat Guru's Vision

Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
