Andrea Carney

About us

About the instructor: In 2017, I started teaching yoga and my hope is that anyone who attends my classes will find a peaceful place to rest and allow their heart to recharge. I was trained and certified through Holy Yoga and am a registered Yoga Alliance member.

My passion for physical, emotional and spiritual wellness began through desperation. The loss of my own mother at a young age to cancer and the tumultuous years that followed left heartbreak that kept me searching for help for many years.

My restoration journey has created a two part desire — 1) to comfort and encourage heart healers to stay in the game and 2) to give hope and help to those who need heart healing.

Class Description: A gentle yoga flow to bring rest and integration to your body, plus a nurturing meditative atmosphere that will bring healing to your soul. Andrea brings her guitar to play and sing over you during savasana (the final resting pose in yoga). All skill levels are welcome!

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My last retreat at SMC was so inspiring and so relaxing. But i'd love to have more time there to spend at the Stupa, visit the Kami shrine, and generally interact with the beautiful enlightened society happening on that entire land. Brett

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
