About us

Sarah B. Hansen, watercolor and mixed media artist, art instructor, blogger, and traveler, has won many awards for her paintings and is a sought-after instructor and self-proclaimed nature adventurer, seeking out travel abroad and in her own Pacific Northwest backyard.  With uncanny insight into the steps it takes to develop a painting, she enthusiastically teaches art and leads adventurous art retreats to regional and world-wide locations. Sarah is a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, displaying her work in galleries and online. She paints and teaches abstract landscapes from her home in Central Oregon, where she lives with her husband and enjoys camping, hiking, backpacking and kayaking with their three grown sons.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I teach yoga part time and am a mom of two toddlers full time. I love my life, but goodness do I need a break. My husband and I have been putting off our wedding ceremony for 4 years because life has gotten in the way. We haven't had a single night alone since our family has grown.
