Nagendra Hegde - Yoga Acharya & Vedanta Scholar

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Nagendra Hegde is a traditionally trained Yoga Acharya and Vedanta scholar dedicated to transmitting the classical wisdom of Yoga through disciplined practice and scriptural depth.

Traditional & Academic Training

Nagendra underwent seven years of immersive study in the Gurukula system at Veda Vijnana Gurukulam, where Sanskrit was the living medium of learning. In this traditional monastery environment, he studied Yoga, Vedanta, Veda, and Darshana under direct guidance and later served as an Acharya, teaching within the same institution.

In addition to his traditional training, he holds:

• Bachelor’s degree in Yoga and Consciousness
• Master’s (Vidwat) degree in Sanskrit

This combination of Gurukula immersion and academic study gives him both experiential depth and scholarly clarity.

Teaching Experience

Nagendra has taught Yoga and Sanskrit in various institutions across India and internationally, including Bangalore, Vizag, and Om Yoga & Wellness Hub in Vietnam. His teaching integrates structure, precision, and a strong grounding in classical philosophy.

At Samyak Institute of Yoga & Ayurveda, he guides students in:

• Hatha Yoga
• Ashtanga Vinyasa
• Vinyasa Yoga
• Kriyas and Shatkarma
• Pranayama practices

He teaches in both 200-hour and 300-hour Teacher Training programs, offering a balanced approach that connects physical discipline with philosophical understanding.

Workshops & Contributions

Nagendra has conducted workshops on personality development and yoga-based stress management, integrating physical practice with mental and spiritual refinement.

His study of Indian Logic (Tarka Shastra) earned him the prestigious “Manorama” award, and his excellence in Sanskrit oratory was recognized at the state level in the traditional Shalaka Pareeksha competition.

Teaching Approach

Nagendra’s approach reflects the traditional Gurukula spirit — precise, methodical, and rooted in authenticity. His sessions emphasize disciplined practice, clear alignment principles, breath awareness, and scriptural context, helping students experience Yoga as a complete path rather than a physical exercise alone.
