About us

Sean Esbjörn-Hargens PhD specializes in supporting leaders, teams, and organizations to navigate complexity through developmental and integrative methodologies and practices. His areas of expertise include: executive leader development and coaching; leadership curriculum design and delivery; integral organizational consulting; dynamic facilitation; whole systems design; embodiment and presence, and the application of integrative metatheories. Sean is the founder of MetaIntegral which is an social enterprise global action network comprised of three companies (a training academy, a consulting firm, and a non-profit). MetaIntegral is dedicated to supporting professionals to “be impact” through the embodied application of integral principles and frameworks. Sean brings a unique multi-sectoral and international perspective. He has been on the leadership team or advisory board of 10 companies, NGOs, and foundations. In these roles, he has worked with a variety of sectors, including international development, fast-moving consumer goods, sustainability, education, and community health. He has lived in the USA, Chad, Kenya, Bhutan, and England, worked in 9 countries, and traveled extensively. Sean is a prolific writer and editor and has published over 30 articles and 7 books that have helped leaders effectively deal with complexity and solve organizational problems.
