About The Teacher

Shankara Newton, MFT has been practicing and teaching yoga and meditation for over 33 years. He first began his journey as a resident of the Kripalu Yoga Ashram in Western Massachusetts where he immersed himself in daily lifestyle of spiritual and personal growth and transformation. He integrates a wealth of knowledge and experience into his teaching, creating a style that blends the Eastern tradition of self-inquiry and his work as a psychotherapist. Shankara brings a deep warmth and compassion and inspiration that enable students to open more fully to who they are and how they experience their bodies. His classes are laden with humor and inspiration that leaves students feeling enriched and enlivened.
