She Is Renewed exists because Crystal N. looked for this retreat and could not find it.
As a faith-rooted woman entrepreneur, mother of triplet miracle babies, and founder of BDC Consulting — a firm that has helped small businesses and nonprofits access over $14 million in funding — Crystal has spent years pouring into others. Into clients. Into her family. Into her community. And like so many women who build and lead and serve, she reached a point where the pouring had outpaced the filling.
She searched for a retreat that was luxurious without being superficial. Faith-rooted without being rigid. Culturally grounded without being exclusionary. A space designed specifically for Black women — entrepreneurs, ministry leaders, executives, and women in transition — who needed more than a vacation. Who needed an encounter.
She could not find it. So she built it.
She Is Renewed is a transformational travel experience produced by BDC Consulting, designed to take women out of the environments that drain them and place them inside an experience that restores them — spiritually, physically, emotionally, and communally. Our inaugural retreat takes place at Epe Resort and Spa in Lagos, Nigeria, bringing women home to the African continent for five days of worship, wellness, sisterhood, and renewal.
We exist for the woman who has given everything and deserves a space that gives back. We exist because rest is not a reward — it is a right. And we exist because transformation does not happen in the margins of a busy life. It happens when you finally stop long enough to let God meet you where you are.
