Eugenia Russian (Iyengar Yoga)

About The Teacher

Eugenia is a native of Venezuela and has been teaching yoga in Mexico since 2006. Since 2009, she shifted her yoga focus from Hatha to the Iyengar method. She came to Tulum in 2014 and completed her grade II certification in the Iyengar tradition of yoga the following year. Her discipline combined with her humor and a love for yoga motivate her students toward a perfectly aligned asana practice. She teaches Iyengar yoga at Tribal and often incorporates the wall cords into the postures. Eugenia has done several Karunta Yoga workshops to show people how the ropes/wall cords can help align asanas and move people deeper into their practice. Her Iyengar practices are a perfect compliment to our Vinyasa Flow and even Yin classes since her use of props helps create a muscle memory that carries through to life on and off the mat.

Wisdom is knowing I am nothing,
Love is knowing I am everything,
and between the two my life moves.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

To find peace and renewal while going through a huge change in my life. Empty nest and the end of a 27 year marriage all at once. Susan
