A traditional Yagé shaman from the Inga indigenous group of Colombia, with over 30 years experience in working with the sacred plants, Taita Gabino offers perspective participants to experience a very intensive, fully residential, Yagé retreat, with five Yagé ceremonies per week under his guidance. His powerful Yagé brew is prepared by cooking continuously over a wood-fire for 36 long hours a mixture of "Chagropanga" and "Tigrehuasca" (also known by other ethnic groups as "Yagé Tigre"), which may be translated as Tiger Yagé or Jaguar Yagé. The cross-section of this type of Yagé reveals a pattern which closely resembles the paw of a big feline, hence the name. It is believed to give shamans who extensively diet with it, for a very long time, the faculty of shape-shifting into jaguars!
The Yagé retreat takes place in our Finca in southern Colombia (nearest airport: Villagarzon) and includes a visit to Taita Gabino's own indigenous Inga community in Putumayo to see - in its natural habitat - the sacred "Tigrehuasca" or "Yagé Tigre" (the Taita will also give an informal talk about Yagé at this time).
Open to perspective pilgrims who are familiar with Spanish, and whose physical, mental and emotional conditions are compatible with an intense Yagé retreat! :)
