About The Teacher
At a very young age Laurie discovered her love of dance. She continued studying ballet and contemporary dance through college and that love of movement is what brought her to yoga. Having tried multiple forms of practice, she found her calling after practicing Bikram Yoga, a series of twenty-six posture exercises that systematically move fresh, oxygenated blood to one hundred percent of your body, to each organ and fiber, restoring all systems to healthy working order, just as nature intended. Proper weight, muscle tone, vibrant good health, and a sense of well being will automatically follow. The discipline of the Bikram style reminded her of her ballet years. Blending focus, balance, strength, and flexibility. She knew she had found "her" yoga. The unexpected was how much things changed outside of the hot room. She found she had more patience, less stress, and was happier than She'd ever been. A healing of mind and body was occurring. She was amazed and knew she wanted to share this experience with others. Having taught ballet before, she felt destined to teach and spread the word of this healing practice to others. She attended Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in Spring 2014. Nine weeks of intense practice, anatomy mechanics, and studying all eight limbs of yoga became life enhancing. Sharing the gift of yoga and teaching Bikram to her students has been incredibly fulfilling. She is constantly inspired and amazed by her students and through them continues to learn and grow.
