About The Teacher

Patricia Lee Lewis founded Patchwork Farm Retreat in western Massachusetts over 35 years ago, has led writing retreats there since 1992, and internationally since 1996. She celebrates our relationship to the earth as sacred, to writing as a way of finding what is deepest within us, and to teaching writing as a participatory, supportive endeavor. She is excited at the promise writing together holds for all of us.

Jacqueline Sheehan is a writer and a therapist. She writes short stories, novels, and essays. Her second novel, Lost & Found, was published 2007 and was a New York Times Bestseller. She is currently working on her fourth novel.

Jane Mortifee is a writer, singer and actor, in addition to being a gifted yoga instructor. She has twice completed the 200 hour RYT certification. Her approach to teaching is to make yoga safe and accessible for practitioners of all levels. She has studied various forms of meditation, focusing on Tibetan Buddhism for the last 17 years.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I'm having a baby in October and want to focus my practice so I can be present and calm! Laine

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
