About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Janel shares her vitality and inspiration through yoga as a vehicle for everyone to explore essential empowerment principles that can be applied throughout daily life, and in turn, share wellbeing with all others and our planet. Janel’s intention is to guide each person through each journey to be nourished, centered, and embodied in their own true essence through mindful movement, breath, and reflection. Janel facilitates what she calls “Maitiri Movement,”  encouraging students to be nourished by their own inner radiance through creative vinyasa flows. Maitiri (my-tree) is a sanskrit word that means ‘loving kindness and unconditional friendship with oneself.” Maitri is described as, “feeling at home with your own mind and your own body.”

Janel is highly inspired by staying curious on this, and all, paths, and strives to invoke curiosity in those she practices with. She is in humble service of cultivating a relationship with the inner teacher and staying present with the spaciousness available in accessing a continual beginner’s mind. Janel aspires to awaken alongside her fellow practitioners into a heart-space that is intimate, playful, and expresses Maitri on and beyond the mat. We invite you to a journey into the shared heart, to be more RADIANTLY ALIVE, aligned with your true nature, to flow and GLOW in your daily life, and be at home within this journey of being human.

Janel is eternally grateful to the Paititi Institute. The diverse lineages and sacred teachings of many traditions, have inspired and continue to inspire her heart to open and evolve.

Janel was wonderful throughout the whole experience. Not only can she make the most amazing vegan food, she was also a great spiritual leader she was very loving and kind. She helped me get through some deep emotional things that I needed to release through breath-work. She had a bright sunny attitude that was fun to wake up to as
she handed us our morning smoothie she had just whipped up for 18 people. She also made the cacao for the cacao ceremony before our breath-work each day. She was a joy!
