About us

Amanda Evans has been teacher and therapist for over 30 years in the health and wellness industry. Her background is in the arts, beginning as a professional dancer, then as a writer and poet. As a body worker she has worked in body conditioning, yoga massage and aromatherapy. As an artist she has worked as a creative writing facilitator and has taught dance and drama in therapeutic community settings throughout her career. She considers herself a humanitarian worker who aims to use the creative skills she brings to teaching yoga to help elevate, motivate and inspire her students and groups. Her group work has spanned many diverse life experiences working within communities of refugees, asylum seekers, women in prison, women with substance abuse addiction, children at risk and people who have suffered trauma to name a few. Amanda recently gained her ‘Elder” status with The Independent Yoga Network, 5000 hours and is continuing to study and research with The American Centre for Vedic Studies in Yoga, Ayurveda, Chanting and Mantra. Whilst finishing her Yoga Therapist qualification with The British School of Yoga Amanda holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Storytelling and Story Making in Therapy and Education. She studied yoga for three years with The British Wheel of Yoga gaining a Teaching Diploma, 20 years ago and has been a full time yoga teacher and therapist since then. Amanda’s trainings are unique and rich in creative learning, using movement medicine to help her students embody her teachings and incorporates visual art, music and drama (creative role play) to assist in making sense of academic theory, history, philosophy and the science of authentic yoga as a whole school of life.
