About us

Johan’s Ayahuasca Ceremony Journey

I was born in Holland where I studied and became a professional photographer. I specialised in architecture and interior photography. I had a career in that for 35 years and photographed all over the world. It was an exciting life and I loved it.

In 2008 I was introduced to Ayahuasca and within a year  I was asked to assist the shaman by holding space during ceremonies. I would become an Anaconda or a medicine man. I would see/feel what people would go through and then had little lines of encouragement after the ceremony.

I would assist 5-6 times a year in weekend ceremonies.

In 2012 I went to study shamanism with Alberto Villodo in the States. He has written several books on energetic shamaism.

I got home very excited because I had some more tools to use in my healing practice where I already did therapeutic reflexology and kinesiology.

When I came back I heard about the ayahuasca foundation  and decided that is where I wanted to go .

They offered 6 and 10 week courses in the jungle and learning about plant medicine as a curanderos would use in the jungle. We would also be taught how to do ceremonies, how to hold space for the guests in ceremony and act if something went a bit too strong, which can happen on ayahuasca. in total I did 55 ceremonies in those 16 weeks. and I drank an estimated 6,5 laters of ayahuasca. I also dieted two master teacher plants which are embedded in me and are called upon during ceremonies.

I signed up for both modules and spend nearly 16 weeks in the jungle and 5 weeks in the city of Iquitos. Which is a very laid back nice city with wonderful people.

After the whole tour I realised that I had learned the language of the plants. The Shipibo tribe calls their spiritual language 'The Language of the Plants"

And I had learned their icaros, well a number of them. And expanding......

Back in Johannesburg I started doing ceremonies first to practice with friends and family but within a short while I would have full ceremonies with 6 - 15 people.

At first did it in Johannesburg and then I got invited to come to Cape Town, followed by towns along the Garden route in the Eastern Cape.

At the moment I drive through the country and do ceremonies in  5 other locations across the country and in Johannesburg.

My Mission:

To create a community of 'Awake' People and by bringing the medicine to the people so more people  Stand in Their Power and find " The Light In You "  the seed you brought with you when you decided to be born here.

Yes, You are here by choice ...

My Vision

That these Awake people spread the Love and Wisdom they experienced and know it is possible to Stand In Your Power and LIVE YOUR LIFE to the fullest.....

Write a review - tell others about your experience.
