About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Jacob Vargas is a facilitator and student of ancestral Amazonian medicines, with many years walking the path of medicine and more than seven years doing traditional plant diets in the Peruvian Amazon alongside indigenous teachers and communities.
His path has been focused on the deep and respectful learning of ancestral practices such as ayahuasca, kambo, yopohuasca, and psilocybin, always from a perspective of spiritual growth, self-discovery, and connection with nature.
Throughout the years, he has participated in multiple learning processes in the Peruvian Amazon, returning year after year to deepen his understanding of traditional teachings, master plant diets, and the spiritual comprehension of sacred plants within their original context.
Jacob also has complementary academic training in the contemporary study of ayahuasca, including the course “Ayahuasca and Its Application in the West: Guidelines for Safe Use,” taught by the renowned ethnobotanist José María Fericgla, integrating a vision that seeks to unite ancestral respect with responsible and conscious use in modern contexts.
His approach is characterized by humility, respect for indigenous traditions, and the creation of authentic, human, and non-commercialized spaces where people can explore deep processes of introspection, emotional healing, and expansion of consciousness.
Rather than defining himself as a “shaman,” Jacob considers himself an eternal student of the medicine path, guided by direct experience, observation, spiritual discipline, and continuous learning alongside the teachings of the jungle.
