About The Teacher
Kara has spent her life expanding her healing gifts, offering council and services in art, art therapy, music and sound healing, hands-on healing through Reiki and deep, integrative trauma release bodywork. She is continually drawn into deeper realms of healing through plant medicine, nutrition and daily centering practices. Kara realized at an early age that she loved traveling and now spends the majority of her time in South and Central America. Peru and Guatemala have become her homes. In 2005, Kara met Grandmother and the introduction was life changing. After moving into the work slowly, when she met her first teacher she heard the calling to the medicine in a deeper way and began a serious, long-term study of this sacred plant medicine. She found herself in Peru learning from some of the most revered Shipibo Maestras and Maestros in South America. Today, Kara studies mainly with Maestras from the Mahua family and the Gomez family in the Peruvian Amazon. Her work with Amazonian plant medicine has deepened her own journey into co-facilitating and hosting retreats and offering ceremonies. Kara believes that how we integrate the plants and their knowledge into own daily lives is the key to successful plant medicine healing. Kara holds space for ceremonies that are co-created with the participants and their intentions. Holding light to their goals and journey, Kara brings 7+ years of study and practice to the circle, holding you with love, healing and humor, creative solutions and paradigms.
