Crystal Reyes Kaplan

About The Teacher

As a Psychology graduate and athlete, Crystal serendipitously transitioned from the corporate world of media & entertainment to full time yoga teaching. She first discovered yoga after her parents’ death at age 13, it was then she initiated an inquiry to the meaning of life. She began a practice of yoga that has evolved over the years to include working at the Iyengar Yoga Studio in NYC, and studying Hindu & Yoga Philosophy at Rutgers University. Inspired by her Jivamukti teacher, Crystal completed her 500 hour teacher training at Sacred Sounds Yoga NYC. She recently went on a pilgrimage to India to explore the traditional aspects of the art of yoga.

Crystal is E-RYT 500 through Yoga alliance with over 1000 training hours in Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, Rocket, and Dharma Yoga . She has taught at gyms, studios, hospitals, and offices throughout NYC. Internationally she has taught in Paris, Italy, and Colombia. She recently returned from a month long journey teaching yoga and meditation at a retreat center in Bali, Indonesia. In addition to her teaching, she is passionate about sustainability and has been involved in the earthship project in Aguada, Puerto Rico, helping to build sustainable homes post hurricane Maria. Forever grateful for her recent travels throughout India on Pilgrimage to practice bhakti & meditation. Outside her classical yoga training Crystal has trained and studied in grief counseling, crystal healing therapy, sacred plant medicine, and shamanic work. She is currently studying under Sri Dharma Mittra.
