About us

Teaching is both a passion and a “calling” for Betsey. She has been teaching yoga to students of all levels and ages for over 12 years and within each class cultivates a spirit of connectivity and community- inviting students to fully engage in the art of yoga. Teaching yoga is her way to contribute to the world and give “voice” to what is truly meaningful. With grace and ease, she focuses on creating a healthy alignment, developing a nourishing breath, and discovering a sense of mindfulness. Each gentle asana practice is intended to become a celebration exploring the intricacies of movement and breath. She practices with an open heart that encourages others to embrace new possibilities and challenges with curiosity and wonder. Her smile, her words, and actions remind us that each day is waiting to unfold and become our most extraordinary day ever! Betsey generously shares the calming and peaceful meditation practice of Yoga Nidra with students- smoothly guiding them to a state of serenity and blissful joy. Once you have taken this transformative journey with her, your world will take on new colors with radiant hues! Her extensive background in the field of education and leadership informs her teaching and inspires and instills confidence in all of her students. Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I teach yoga part time and am a mom of two toddlers full time. I love my life, but goodness do I need a break. My husband and I have been putting off our wedding ceremony for 4 years because life has gotten in the way. We haven't had a single night alone since our family has grown. I wouldn't change a thing about our lives now, but it would be so wonderful to remember what it's like to 'just be us.' Antrim

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
