About us

Sarah’s path is comprised of many stitches. From the artist’s studio to the yoga studio, she has explored unique ways to create, to practice, and to make meaning. But at heart, Sarah has always been a maker and a teacher. In 2000, after a lifetime of living with scoliosis, Sarah began a new practice and a new journey, from body constricted to body empowered. Her training has been guided and inspired by the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga, studying with Christina Sell as well as immersive studies with Dr. Douglas Brooks and Vishali Varga. In addition, Sarah is honored to have worked with and assisted Elise Miller and Judith Lasater. In 2016, Sarah became a certified Recovery Coach, working closely with people suffering from alcohol dependency. Sarah weaves her critical, visual and perceptual background into a unique environment for students to map and make meaning of their individual body’s stories and experiences. She currently teaches, mentors, and co-leads teacher trainings with Erica Ebert Denman at Balance Fitness, Webster, NY and has led retreats in the Dominican Republic, India, and Monhegan, Maine.
