About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Christine Guest discovered ikebana in the 1980’s and was immediately hooked. She had the great good fortune to meet and study with a truly magical being, the much beloved Watanabe Sensei, for many years. While Christine is a certified teacher in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana, she very much considers herself an ‘experienced beginner’, taking to heart the words of her teacher: “in ikebana, we’re always students — we never ‘graduate’.”
Over the years, she has taught ESL, photography, meditation related disciplines, as well as ikebana. She recently retired from her job as staff photographer at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and now spends her time between Montreal and Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia.
