Shamananda
About the Teacher
Why study with them?
Shamananda originates from Sweden from the Sami people, who were among the first known shamans in history.
After 10 years experience working with plant medicines, yoga and meditation, both in retreats and alone, he is a very experienced and accomplished medicine man, and dedicates his life to helping others through the medicine.
He has a deep and personal relationship with Ayahuasca, and he considers the brew to have been his mentor throughout his path. He prepares the brew, as well as all other medicines, himself.
A ceremony with Shamananda is something very unique and quite different from other
Ayahuasca ceremonies you may have experienced. Aside from being one of the only shamans who plays piano in his ceremonies, he gives his whole mind, body and soul to the ceremony; to you. If you come with an open heart and a strong intention to learn and heal, you will be taken to places beyond your wildest imagination.
‘Shamananda is the only westerner that I'll call a Shaman, more specifically a self-made Shaman, which I think is the toughest way to get the kind of realizations that he has. He earned the "title" with really hard work and an unusual strength. He is the most passionate human being when it comes to the study and deep immersion in the psychedelic realms, a really brave and focused server of the medicine who was willing to let go of everything to discover what (this we call) reality was really about, I think this "Buddha-Thor" attitude brought him where he is right now, in the position of sharing a journey that has great value for anyone who will trust that there is light after you go through the darkness. Words can barely describe the kind of work that he does, but if you are willing to do your job, he is going to get you deep and far, that is for sure.’

‘I have been in ceremonies led by Shamananda where Ayahuasca was involved and I can tell you that he is really good. He takes his work very seriously and is committed to the plants with respect and humbleness. My first ceremony with Ayahuasca with him was really good (after having undergone many) and I was greatly surprised by his brew and technique (meditate between the time of taking the dose and ayahuasca kicking off). It was a very good experience, full of visuals and feelings. highly recommended, I haven't met anyone so devoted and committed to Ayahuasca as him.’

'My initiation with medicinal plants was with Shamananda, it was my first time taking Ayahuasca, I would like to say I was really nervous at the beginning. However, as soon as I met him and the whole environment he made for us I felt completely safe. Weeks before the session he facilitated us with all the information we needed to know regarding the diet and the most adequate meditations to practice in order to make the most out of this experience. Moreover, he talked to every single one of us personally about our intentions and anything we wanted to let go before the ceremony. I ended up having one of the most beautiful and profound experiences I have had in my entire life. I learned so much from it and I have been recommending this to everybody including friends and family. All I want to say is thanksfor facilitating this medicine and for little by little making this world a better place'
