Kate Davies

About us

Designer | artist | teacher. Organises and runs arts workshops for families. Teacher of young adults at Northampton College and Northampton University, lecturer in fine arts, graphics, print, digital art, photography.

Kate is a strong believer in the power of art for relaxing the mind. It is one of the most wonderful uses of mindfulness. Even if you don't claim to be an artist, by just focusing on an object, exploring it with your senses and drawing what you see - not what you think you see - will happily absorb you in the most productive form of beautiful escapism!

There are fun ways of exploring art which surprise the mind and hand. This is one of those great times when the journey is a great part of the process and the results can be amazing!

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I am an oncology nurse and a few long time patients have died recently. I need to rejuvenate and return to my breath! Elizabeth

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
