Eva grew up in the travel and tourism and sharing her love for wildlife and African nature remains an integral element on our Yoga Safaris.  " I have a heartfelt interest in portraying Africa and it's vast beauty of natural habitats, culture, its conservation and the open landscapes that can only touch your soul on a core level ".

She's taken great value and understanding from spending time with the Bushmen of Namibia, the oldest tribe in the world, learning of their life in the remote wilderness.  "My Dad was a naturalist and spent most of his life on the less travelled tracks of Southern Africa and he embedded his knowledge and passion for the natural world in me".

Travelling to North Africa, living and practicing Yoga in the rural areas of Gambian culture revealed to her what it means to take your Yoga off the mat and into your day when life around you evolves around the basic effort of survival, community and compassion. "In essence, what the practice of Yoga means to me is to feel connected to my own nature and the world around me.  Through the medium of Yoga we venture into ourselves only to embrace the world more openly. I can't imagine a more soulful experience than sharing the practice amongst some of the most pristine habitats on Earth where silence, space and nature speak their wisdom".

Eva first started practicing Yoga at the age of 15, out of pure ambition to perfect a discipline and to find healing in her body. She developed a diligent and dedicated practice under the guidance of different teachers that encouraged her to complete a Teacher Training. She aspires to offer progressive practice techniques and shares her personal aspirations to take up a Yoga practice. Her teaching is technical, challenging, inspiring and warm-hearted. Her ambitions are directed towards creating lightness, strength and balance in body, mind and heart.

HOST - Marcel Vosloo

“I grew up in Namibia where I had countless opportunities to experience nature in its purest form. Exposure to diverse cultures and the many adventures was the fuel to my passion, thirst for knowledge of other cultures and the global community.

A career as a diving instructor took me to many exotic locations. The ocean inspired my imagination and brought joy to my soul, it is here that I was passionately drawn into the art of yoga. I have since had the privilege of sharing diving and yoga with people in amazing places such as the Bahamas, Europe, Indonesia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Seychelles, South Africa, Thailand and the United States of America.

After 15 years of travelling and working abroad, I returned to Namibia to start Namaste Yoga Safari and also worked as a Travel Consultant to learn more about Namibian Tourism. The venues for our retreats were carefully selected to host the most amazing and memorable yoga retreats in Namibia.”

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

To give my ego a break from all these construction projects. Layth
