Sarah McTee

About The Teacher

Sarah began practicing yoga in 2003. She left Hawaii for 11 years and during that time became a dedicated student of the Jivamukti style. Sarah’s gratitude for all of the teachings she’s received inspired her to participate in the Jivamukti teacher training in New York. Studying with the founders, David Life and Sharon Gannon, and under the rigorous and inspiring mentorship of Andrea Boyd, Sarah received her Jivamukti certification in 2011 and began teaching in San Francisco shortly thereafter. Sarah augments her yoga practice and teachings with the study of Sanskrit, and has a level 1 Reiki certification with Eric Rueben.

Sarah teaches regularly at Open Space Yoga and co-hosts Yoga Unplugged events. She will be bringing her gift of Kirtan and chanting to this year’s retreat as well as leading yoga asana. When Sarah breaks out her harmonium and starts singing mantra you can’t help but smile. Sorta makes your heart melt a little.

Just as the eye cannot see itself,
The mind cannot know itself.
As such, all knowing must spring from that which is vaster. Wu Hsin
